Our Panic Button

We all have been there…sweaty palms, feeling of anxiety, up all night feeling.

It is common, every single person on this Earth has felt this feeling.

What is it that keeps you up at night? Do you know what your trigger points of stress and panic are?

For me, I would say that finances are usually my first stress. The reason I feel this way is because 1) I never know if the economy is stable so how does that affect me? Do I have a job tomorrow? 2) Bills could change at any time. Do I have money saved for emergencies like an accident or a problem? 3) Will I ever retire? Will I ever have enough money to do that? Social security will probably NOT be around when I retire. Am I ready?

Some other issues that scare the heck out of me are:

1) My family – how long will they be around, are they healthy, and can I take care of them?

2) What about my health? How long will I live?

3) Who is talking about me or backstabbing me?

4) Am I living this life that I have? Am I living it to the fullest? Can I vacation and have a fun time?

These are all very valid issues that keep me up at night. What keeps you up at night? What are you thinking about that you can’t stay out of your mind?

My next question is – how safe is this stress on our health? Studies have found many health problems related to stress.  Stress seems to worsen or increase the risk of conditions like obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, depression, asthma, and gastrointestinal problems.

What are we going to do to get our stress and panic under control? Here are some tips: Meditate, breathe deeply and slow down, reach out to friends and family, and stay in tuned with your body.

Another great option is to write down in a journal what your stress is all about. Sometimes clearing your head and releasing it off your shoulders and into a book works wonders. Chatting about your stresses into a community of people works well too. FB or other social media has some significant groups of individuals to collaborate with about your thoughts. Who feels the same? I bet there are tons of other like minded people that feel the same as you!

If you would ever like to talk to me – let me know. I am here to chat and have tons of solutions in my head!
